HCSD-MAAP State Assessment 2018-19 School Summary

(HARRISON COUNTY, MS) The Harrison County School District made great strides on the latest Mississippi Academic Assessment Program.  On Monday night, HCSD Curriculum Director, Dorene Hansen, presented some impressive results to the Harrison County School Board. The rankings were based on MDE's average scale score.

Congratulations to these following HCSD schools for their outstanding performance on the 2018-19 MAAP assessments:

Fifth Grade English/Language Arts:
• Pineville Elementary ranked 4th in Mississippi.

Sixth Grade English/Language Arts:
• North Woolmarket Elementary/Middle school ranked 3rd in the state.
• Saucier Elementary ranked 4th in Mississippi
• Pineville Elementary ranked 10th in the state.

Third Grade Math:
• West Wortham Elementary/Middle School ranked 6th in Mississippi

Fifth Grade Math:
• Pineville Elementary ranked 2nd in the state.
• North Woolmarket Elementary/Middle ranked 9th in Mississippi.

Sixth Grade Math:
• Lizana Elementary ranked 2nd in Mississippi.
• Pineville Elementary ranked 3rd in the state.
• North Woolmarket Elementary/Middle ranked 6th in Mississippi.

Eighth Grade Math:
• North Woolmarket Elementary/Middle School ranked 4th in Mississippi.

Fifth Grade Science:
• Woolmarket Elementary ranked 10th in Mississippi.

Eighth Grade Science:
• North Woolmarket Elementary/Middle School ranked 5th in the state.

• D’Iberville High ranked 9th in Mississippi.

HCSD leaders expressed how proud they are of how hard the students, teachers, and staff have worked this past year to increase student achievement. The Mississippi Department of Education is expected to release school/district performance grades and rankings in September.
