Four Seniors Named National Merit Finalists

Four HCSD Seniors Named National Merit Finalists
(HARRISON COUNTY, MS)  Harrison County School District is excited to announce that four seniors in the District have been named 2020 National Merit Finalists. Congratulations to Alyssa Stoner, Jeremy Wright, and Chase Yano of Harrison Central High, and Michael Steil of D'Iberville High, on being selected for this prestigious designation.

The seniors were judged based on their academic performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and they were among 16,000 students from across the country who were named Semifinalists last September.

Chase Yano was also selected as a semifinalist for the United States Presidential Scholar Award. He was one of 5,600 applicants and is among the six semifinalists representing the state of Mississippi.

Harrison Central High, D'Iberville High, and Harrison County School District are extremely proud of Michael, Alyssa, Jeremy, and Chase and wish all four students the best of luck in their future endeavors.
