DHS junior makes perfect 36 ACT score

D'Iberville High junior makes perfect 36 ACT score
A D'Iberville High junior achieved one of his biggest academic goals this week. Michael Steil made a perfect 36 ACT score.

A D’Iberville High School junior just learned this week he made a perfect score on the ACT.  Michael Steil scored a 36 – the highest a student can make on the ACT.  What’s even more remarkable is that Michael made a 35 in his freshman year!

The ACT is a standardized test used for college admission in the United States.  Scoring a 36 is quite an achievement, considering less than one-percent of students who take the ACT get a 36 on their test.

Michael says he took many practice tests to prepare for the ACT.  His mother also bought him a "big red book" to help him study.  Michael scored a 28 when it took the ACT for the first time in the 7th grade.

The 16-year-old junior plays the synthesizer in the school marching band.  One of his favorite hobbies is role playing in the Dungeons and Dragons game. Michael would like to attend Princeton University and major in astrophysics.
