Coast Man Donates His Life Savings to HCSD

The Harrison County School District has received a surprise donation, the largest in its 63-year history! The District recently learned that a South Mississippi man had passed away in April, and he had chosen the Harrison County School District as the beneficiary of his savings account.  The total amount of his gift was $642,884.84.

It is not known why Mr. Saucier wanted to give such large sum of money to the Harrison County School District.

“We are truly amazed and deeply grateful to be the recipient of this generous gift. This large donation shows that Mr. Darrell Saucier cared about the children of this district, and wanted to support their education,” said Harrison County Schools Superintendent, Mr. Roy Gill. “We have been blessed by Mr. Saucier’s generosity and we cannot thank him enough for wanting to invest in our students’ future. Our hearts and prayers are with his family. We pledge to honor Mr. Saucier’s wishes to use this donation to benefit the children of this community.”
