Although the pandemic created obstacles to teaching and disruptions in learning throughout the school year, the results showed students in HCSD worked hard and persevered to achieve their academic goals.

“Our students and staff should be commended for their dedication and resilience, despite facing challenging circumstances. We are very proud of our schools that performed well on the state tests and we strive to do all that we can to increase achievement at all of our schools. We will continue to work with our teachers, administrators, staff, parents, and community members to build upon this progress to ensure that our students are successful,” said Mitchell King, Harrison County School District Superintendent.

The MAAP scores and the amount of progress students make from one year to the next will be used to calculate the state’s accountability grades (A-F) for each school and district in Mississippi. Accountability ratings for the 2021-22 school year will be released on September 29.
