(HARRISON COUNTY, MS) February 1, 2023 – The Harrison County School District is truly blessed to receive the largest donation to a single school cafeteria in the last five years! Mr. and Mrs. Buster Tindel recently presented Orange Grove Elementary with a $2,700 check to pay off the meal debt of all students at the school for the fall 2022 semester.
In January, Mr. Tindel celebrated his 81st birthday and his wish was to be able to do something special for children in need. When he heard about students with negative meal balances at Orange Grove Elementary, he wanted to help. Since no child in the Harrison County School District goes without a meal, this generous donation will go towards covering the unpaid balances from last semester.
HCSD would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Tindels for their wonderful gift to the students at Orange Grove Elementary! This Coast couple’s gesture of kindness and support will have a significant impact on the lives of many families in our community.
