D'Iberville High Names New Football Coach

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (March 11, 2022) - Joshua Ladner definitely lives up to the motto: ‘Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior!' This proud D’Iberville High alum who played on the school’s 2002 State Championship football team will now take over as the Warriors’ new head football coach. His hiring was approved by the Harrison County School Board of Trustees on March 21, 2022.

Ladner has served as the Warriors’ assistant football coach for a total of nine years, specializing in the offensive line. He helped lead the team to a South State Championship and State Championship appearance in 2008.

Under his leadership as the Warriors’ head 9th grade football coach, the team had a 31-5 overall record, 20-game winning streak, two championship game appearances, and won the Coastal Championship in 2013. That same year, Ladner was named “Coastal Coach of the Year”.

As the D’Iberville High boys and girls powerlifting head coach, Ladner led both teams to State Championship titles. The boys powerlifting team won 11 District Championships, eight South State Championships, and two 6A State Championships. Ladner was named “Mississippi Boys Powerlifting Coach of the Year” in 2015 and 2021. The girls powerlifting team won five District Championships, three South State Championships, and three State Championships. Ladner also received “Mississippi Girls Powerlifting Coach of the Year” honors in 2018, 2019, and 2021.

Ladner replaces Larry Dolan, who recently returned to Forrest County Agriculture High School. Ladner’s vision is to carry on the tradition of the Warriors’ winning ways.
