D'Iberville High Seniors Earn National Recognition

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (September 2, 2022) – Four D’Iberville High School seniors have earned national recognition from the AP College Board.

Congratulations to Maurisha Arnold and Ian Wheat, who will both receive the "Rural and Small Town Recognition Award". Maurisha will also receive the “National African American Recognition Award”. The students are receiving this honor because of their academic achievements in English II and outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and/or AP Exams.

Maurisha is a member of the Key Club and Eco Warriors. She is also a member of the 30 Plus Club and enjoys volunteering in her spare time. Maurisha’s favorite subject is math and she plans to pursue a career in computer science.

Ian has served as captain of the State Championship Bowling team. He made a 35 on his ACT, was in Student Council, and is currently a senior representative. Ian’s favorite subject is math and he plans to pursue a career in mechanical engineering.

AP College Board

HCSD also wishes to congratulate Dylan Dexter and Nathan Doan, who will also be receiving the "Rural and Small Town Recognition Award". They are receiving this honor due to their academic achievements in U.S. History and outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and/or AP Exams.

Dylan is an honor student and is currently ranked at the top of his class. He is the executive vice-president of the student council and is a member of the DHS bowling team. Dylan's favorite subject is history and he plans to pursue a career in law.

Nathan is also an honor student and he currently ranks 3rd in his class. He is involved in numerous clubs, including serving as the executive treasurer of the student council and co-captain of the D’Iberville High bowling team. Nathan loves biology and he hopes to attend medical or dental school after college.
