
HARRISON COUNTY, MS (February 7, 2022) – During Monday night’s Harrison County School Board meeting, Huntington Ingalls Industries recognized four Harrison County School District teachers for going above and beyond. The teachers received Ingalls STEM grants for demonstrating a commitment to their students in a challenging environment. Ingalls also wanted to thank the award recipients for preparing the next generation of shipbuilders.
The Harrison County School District truly appreciates Ingalls for funding over $9,500 in classroom projects this year and for supporting our educators. The district would like to congratulate these STEM grant recipients:
- West Harrison Middle School: “Microcontrollers” by Mr. Douglas Reid - $4,500

- North Gulfport Elementary & Middle School: “Video Game Builders” by Ms. LaRhonda Coppola - $810

- West Wortham Elementary & Middle School: “30 Days Lost in Space” by Ms. Tanya Voorhees - $1,500

- Crossroads Elementary: “Tic Toc” by Ms. Stephanie Joiner (not pictured) - $2,770
