Free Meals for All HCSD Students

Free Meals for All HCSD Students in 2021-22 School Year

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (July 16, 2021) – ALL enrolled students in the Harrison County School District will receive FREE breakfast and lunch daily during the 2021-22 school year! Due to the current pandemic, the USDA has approved the Seamless Summer Option program, which provides free meals to all children during the summer and will now be extended throughout the upcoming school year.

“While meals will continue to be free for all of our students, menus will be enhanced and additional entrée selections will be added as campuses now have the option to return to in-cafeteria dining,” said HCSD Child Nutrition Director Brad Barlow.

Although meal applications are not required, we encourage all parents to fill out an online free or reduced meal form during registration. The information must be updated annually and will help our school district qualify for funding to support student services like more technology access and tutoring programs, dual enrollment tuition assistance, and discounts on ACT, AP exam, and college application fees.

We can't wait to see our students again and serve them hot and healthy meals, starting August 5, 2021!
