Harrison Central Band Invited to Perform on National Stage

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (May 5, 2021) - The Harrison Central High Marching Band has been invited to perform in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C., in the summer of 2022! The HCHS band was nominated by Gulfport Mayor Billy Hewes and judging was based on an online video of the band's performance. HCHS was the only band in Mississippi invited to perform at the parade and it will be its first national performance since the Orange Bowl Parade in 2006.

HCHS Band Director, Mr. Dell Trotter, surprised the students with the exciting announcement on May 5, 2021. He expressed his pride in the students and thanked the seniors for helping the band reach this point. Congratulations to the “Pride of the Coast”!
