HCSD Revises Graduation Protocols

HCSD Revises Class of 2021 Graduation Protocols

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (April 30, 2021) - Due to the Mississippi Coast Coliseum lifting restrictions on arena capacity, the Harrison County School District has made the following revisions to the graduation protocols:

• The Harrison County School District will no longer require graduates to have limited tickets for graduation ceremonies.
• Seating will be at full capacity only in the balcony and terrace sections.
• Masks are recommended.
• Graduates will be dismissed first, followed by guests.
• Caps and gowns will be returned to the high schools the following week.

The Coliseum will continue to implement these health and safety protocols:

• Graduates will be socially distanced.
• Hand sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the facility.
• Sanitizing will take place at the end of each ceremony.
• Parents are not allowed on the floor at the conclusion of the graduation ceremony. No gathering will be allowed inside the arena.
• Graduate rehearsal will be in Hall C. The seats will be set up identical to those in the arena.
• Graduates will be asked to exit at the conclusion of the graduation ceremony and meet their family and friends in the parking lot.
• Concessions will be open.

HCSD will provide live streaming of all three graduation ceremonies. We will announce the details at a later date. If you have any questions, please contact your senior's school. Here is the graduation schedule for each high school:
