Saucier Store Donates $10K to Two HCSD Schools

Saucier Store Surprises Two HCSD Schools with 10K Donation

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (February 7, 2022) – A Saucier convenience store that recently sold a winning lottery ticket just made a generous donation to two schools in the Harrison County School District. The owner of Robinwood One Stop presented the checks to the principals of West Wortham Elementary/Middle School and Harrison Central High this afternoon.

In late January, a South Mississippi couple won $1 million dollars after purchasing the Mega Millions ticket from Robinwood One Stop on Highway 49 in Saucier. Today, a representative from the Mississippi Lottery presented the store with a $5,000 prize for selling the winning ticket. The store owner, Ms. Jennifer Weems, surprised everyone by announcing that she will match the $5,000 prize, bringing the total to $10,000. West Wortham received a $5,000 check and another $5,000 check went to Harrison Central.

“We are very blessed, fortunate, and grateful for our community. We receive a lot of our customers are your children, your students, your faculty that come through  here. We are very blessed to be part of this community, and we want to give back,” said Weems. “We’re just blessed to have two very great schools next to us. It’s just all a community effort and we’re blessed to be a part of it. It’s a great county, great school district, and we’re very fortunate to be right here.”

Both principals expressed their excitement and deep gratitude for this wonderful gift that will go to benefit their students. HCSD is incredibly blessed to have Ms. Weems and Robinwood One Stop as part of our school community and we thank them for their support and generosity.
