The mission of D'Iberville High School is to provide its students with an equal opportunity to learn by providing highly qualified instructors who incorporate various teaching methods to help students become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners; and through the collaborative work of teachers, students, parents and the community, students are able to succeed in acquiring their desired goals and objectives in both the present and the future.

D'Iberville High School serves 1100 students, ninth to twelth grade, through 78 dedicated faculty members. It offers its students a state of the art learning environment with Internet access in all classrooms so all students can become part of the global society. Most classrooms have four computers for students to use during the school day. Students have access to a fully automated library and media center as well. A variety of educational programs such as after-school tutoring, Enrichment courses, and online curricula provide students with a wealth of opportunity to excel and achieve. Each teacher can better meet student needs as well with data warehousing resources developed by district personnel. These resources allow teachers to profile the past performance of a student and better meet the specific needs of the individual student.

Warrior Soccer Team

Warrior Soccer Teams in State Playoffs Again

- On Tuesday, January 12, 2010 the Warrior Boys and Girls teams faced an opportunity to qualify for the MHSAA State Soccer playoffs. However, standing in their way were the West Harrison Hurricanes, a division foe. The Warriors could lock up a guaranteed playoff spot with a win over the Hurricanes, or depend on help and tiebreakers if they suffered a loss.

The girls fell behind early 1-0 but battled back to win 2-1 behind goals by Dani Craft and Brandee Kovacevich. Cassidy Smith and Dani Craft dished out the assists on the goals. Aundrea Borchardt made several great saves in the goal to secure the victory and guarantee the warriors a playoff appearance.

The boys won an exciting game by a score of 3-1 of the Hurricanes. Dallas Mansfield recorded a hat trick with three goals while Tyler Jarrett and Brynnen Keel each had an assist in the win. Ethan Richard turned away the late Hurricane threats in goal to propel the Warriors into the playoffs.

Both teams have a chance to win the division as they go against Long Beach in two pivotal games to determine the division championship.

DHS Report Card 2008 - 2009

Harrison County School District

Report Card 2008-2009

(Part A: No Child Left Behind Act of 2001)

The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires school districts to publish report cards containing certain information. The required information falls into three general areas: school improvement, teacher qualifications, and test data. A school that fails to make adequate yearly progress in achievement must be identified for school improvement. The report must contain information about the professional qualifications of teachers in core academic subject areas [English, reading, language arts, science, mathematics, foreign languages, arts, civics and government, economics, history and geography]. Highly qualified teachers are those who satisfied the NCLB criteria during the school year. The report must also contain achievement data for specific subgroups, two-year achievement trends and student participation rates.

Please contact the principal of your child's school if you have questions about this report.
