DANCE TEAM WINS STATE TITLE The D'IBERVILLE HIGH SCHOOL WARRIOR DANCE TEAM won the title: 2011 MHSAA 6A State Pom Champions. On December 16, 2011 in Jackson, Mississippi dance teams from around the state competed in different levels and categories. The Warriors competed in the 6A pom division with their routine, "Shuffle Mix." The team is made up of 10 members. Coach Angie Waites had this to say; "We were so excited and totally shocked." This was our first time to compete at state level. I am so very pound of the team, their hard work and commitment paid off. The 2011 season has been an exciting, fun, and bonding year. The Warriors are so extremely proud to represent D'Iberville by being the first ever Dance team from DHS to win a "dance" state title championship.

Parents, Students, & Community D'Iberville High School will be going through the accreditation process in Feb. 2011. Accreditation examines the whole institution-the programs, the cultural context, the community of stakeholders- to determine how well the parts work together to meet the needs of students. We have been gathering and collecting data and input for five years in order to excel during our review. If you'd like to know more about the accreditation process, please visit http://www.advanc-ed.org/.
You and your child may be receiving additional surveys, opinion polls, etc. in the next few weeks. Your input, feedback, and thoughts are welcomed and encouraged. If you have any questions, or would like to provide direct input into this process, please e-mail scato@harrison.k12.ms.us
DHS Report Card Harrison County School District
(Part A: No Child Left Behind Act of 2001)
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires school districts to publish report cards containing certain information. The required information falls into three general areas: school improvement, teacher qualifications, and test data. A school that fails to make adequate yearly progress in achievement must be identified for school improvement. The report must contain information about the professional qualifications of teachers in core academic subject areas [English, reading, language arts, science, mathematics, foreign languages, arts, civics and government, economics, history and geography]. Highly qualified teachers are those who satisfied the NCLB criteria during the school year. The report must also contain achievement data for specific subgroups, two-year achievement trends and student participation rates.
Please contact the principal of your child's school if you have questions about this report.
