Helping your child do well in school is one of your biggest jobs as a parent. And now you can get help right on our website!
Pineville Report Card
Harrison County School District
(Part A: No Child Left Behind Act of 2001)
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires school districts to publish report cards containing certain information. The required information falls into three general areas: school improvement, teacher qualifications, and test data. A school that fails to make adequate yearly progress in achievement must be identified for school improvement. The report must contain information about the professional qualifications of teachers in core academic subject areas [English, reading, language arts, science, mathematics, foreign languages, arts, civics and government, economics, history and geography]. Highly qualified teachers are those who satisfied the NCLB criteria during the school year. The report must also contain achievement data for specific subgroups, two-year achievement trends and student participation rates.
Please contact the principal of your child's school if you have questions about this report.

All the World's a Stage
This has been a busy production week at Pineville Elementary. At a PPP after school meeting on March 6th in the library, the first and second grade students that stayed for the meeting presented their two science-oriented plays to a roomful of parents, siblings, and grandparents. They did a wonderful job on both plays, particularly when some of them had to step in at the last minute to fill in on a part for a student that was not there.

After the nine weeks testing was completed on Friday morning, the first through sixth graders gathered in the library to watch the plays the students have been working on during their second library visit each week during the third grading period. The first and second graders presented two science-oriented plays, "Fly High, Butterfly" and "There's No Place Like Home", respectively. The third through sixth grades worked on either a regular or a fractured fairy tale, and chose which to present. The third graders presented "The Ugly Ducking" and the fourth graders chose "The Tortoise and the Hare". The fifth and sixth graders decided on fractured tales, "Goldilocks and the Three Bullfrogs" and "The Brementown Rappers".
Not to be outdone, the kindergarten class made puppets for "The Three Little Pigs" which was presented at an after school PPP meeting, and they will present it to some of the classes again next week.
Well done students!
