D'Iberville Elementary Receives $5,000 Donation from New Burlington Store

(March 22, 2024) – On Friday, Burlington Stores donated $5,000 to D'Iberville Elementary School through its partnership with the national non-profit organization AdoptAClassroom.org to celebrate its new store in D’Iberville. Funds will be used towards school supplies to help ensure students at D’Iberville Elementary have the learning materials and tools they need to succeed.
 
A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org reached out to district and school administrators and helped to secure the donation for D’Iberville Elementary, which will support classrooms with new supplies. The donation was presented to D’Iberville Elementary on March 22 at the Grand Opening Celebration of the store located at 3951 Promenade Parkway. D'Iberville Elementary Principal Melissa Quave brought a group of students and teachers to the event to personally express the school's appreciation. 

"I would like to say thank you to Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org for giving us this generous donation. Our students and teachers are very excited to have this, and I know the teachers can't wait to spend the money to help the students and their classrooms. So, thank you! We appreciate it very much," said Quave.
 
As part of Burlington’s new holistic community-giving approach of adding value to local communities, and in partnership with their national nonprofit partner AdoptAClassroom.org, they hope to help empower those in their local store communities to live a better life and build a better future. Each time Burlington opens a new store, they celebrate by adopting and funding local classrooms in their new store community.

"To support and add value to our communities, Burlington partners with non-profit organizations; one of those is AdoptAClassroom.org, which identifies and supports local high-need schools. So today, we're going to make a significant donation to them to provide critical funds to teachers so their teachers can build better futures," said Burlington D'Iberville Store Manager Kiara Joiner.

We are grateful for this generous $5,000 gift from our new neighbor, and we are blessed to have Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org as our partners in education.
