Pinning Ceremony Honoring 2024-25 Teacher Mentees

Posted Date: 5/21/25 (3:22 PM)

(May 20, 2025) – Tonight, 49 first-year teachers participated in a special Pinning Ceremony to celebrate a significant moment in their career — completing the HCSD Teacher Mentee-Mentor Program!

Each mentee received a custom-designed pin from their mentor or Superintendent William Bentz. The program also included reflections from several mentees who shared their personal challenges, triumphs, and lessons learned as they navigated through their first year of teaching. One mentee stated, “I’m so grateful HCSD launched this program. I wouldn’t start my teaching career anywhere else.”

After the pinning ceremony, everyone enjoyed an ice cream social and other sweet treats!

Congratulations to all these mentees!

We want to thank all the mentors who provided advice, encouragement, and support to our mentees. We appreciate your patience and passion in sharing your knowledge and expertise. Also, we would like to extend a special shout-out to HCSD Research & Development Director Dr. Natasha Williams for coordinating this unique mentoring program to ensure our new teachers have the guidance and resources they need to thrive in the classroom!
