(May 19, 2025) – The Rotary Club of Gulfport-Orange Grove celebrated its 40th anniversary today by showcasing numerous service projects that have benefited children over the last four decades, including a special tribute to its award-winning partnership with the Harrison County School District! That longstanding collaboration received state recognition in 2023 when HCSD was honored with the Governor’s Award from the Mississippi Association of Partners in Education.
During the luncheon, HCHS Interact Club President Erykah Carmichael and Harrison Central Elementary Social Worker Paris Thompson shared personal stories of how the Rotary has had a significant impact on their lives and on the students they serve. Community Service Awards were then presented to HCSD school counselors, Interact Club sponsors, social workers, and the district's Public Relations Specialist for their outstanding dedication and contributions to the Rotary.
