Harrison Central High Announces Wright as New Head Boys Basketball Coach

(March 12, 2026) – Excitement filled the HCSD board room this afternoon as Harrison Central High School announced the hiring of Coach Lorenzo Wright as the new Head Coach of the Red Rebel Boys Basketball program! Coach Wright takes over the program following the retirement of longtime head coach Francisco Hardy, who concludes a remarkable career after decades of dedicated service to Harrison Central High and the Red Rebel basketball program.
Coach Wright brings an outstanding résumé to Harrison Central, including over 300 career coaching victories. Most recently, he led Pascagoula High School through a historic season, culminating in a 6A State Championship. Known for building disciplined teams and developing student-athletes both on and off the court, Coach Wright’s experience and leadership make him an excellent fit for the Red Rebel community.
Harrison Central High Principal Rachel Burt expressed her excitement about the hire: “We are extremely excited to welcome Coach Lorenzo Wright to Harrison Central High School. Coach Wright brings a tremendous amount of experience and success to our basketball program, and his recent state championship season at Pascagoula speaks to the level of leadership and competitiveness he will bring to our student-athletes. At the same time, we want to thank Coach Francisco Hardy for his decades of service and the impact he has had on generations of Red Rebels. We look forward to Coach Wright continuing to build on that tradition while developing our young men and strengthening pride in Red Rebel basketball.”
Harrison Central looks forward to an exciting future under Coach Wright’s leadership as the Red Rebels continue to build a championship culture on and off the court.
Welcome to HCHS, Coach Wright!
