Surprising March District Teacher of the Month

(April 23, 2026) – A round of applause, please, for Mrs. Celeste Baker—Our HCSD March Teacher of the Month!
(April 23, 2026) – Today, Huntington Learning Center helped us surprise and celebrate Mrs. Baker at River Oaks Elementary School. She received a certificate, a $50 gift card, teacher supplies, and balloons.
Mrs. Baker has taught 6th-grade English/Language Arts at ROE for the last three years.
“Mrs. Baker comes with great professionalism and commitment to developing her learners. Mrs. Baker is able to apply numerous methods and approaches to ensure her learners' success. Her attention to detail and high standards create a deeper understanding among her students. We are so proud and honored to have Mrs. Baker at River Oaks,” said River Oaks Elementary Principal Jerri Turan.
“I am incredibly proud to be a part of such a supportive and inspiring school community here at River Oaks, where both students and staff are encouraged to grow, collaborate, and succeed every day!” said Baker. “The positive environment, strong leadership, and shared commitment to excellence make it a truly special place to teach. Receiving the Teacher of the Month recognition is both an honor and a humbling experience; it reassures me that the effort I put into my students and classroom is making a difference. I'm grateful to work alongside my principal, dedicated colleagues, and motivated students who make this recognition possible, and it inspires me to create meaningful learning experiences each day. Thank you so very much to the Harrison County School District, Dr. Natasha Williams, and Huntington Learning Center for this honor.”
Congratulations, Mrs. Baker!
